The Early Days
The Drop Redoubt has been re-opened to the public on Open Days
since 2003, and it has proved very popular.
Re-enactment groups join us for those days, with their
musket drills and displays throughout the weekend.
Marshalls are available all over the site to ensure
visitors get the most of their trip to the Redoubt. With many
other stalls involving local groups and national organisations
such as English Heritage, the Open Days are becoming more
popular each year.
These pictures show what a poor state the fort was in, only with
the help of volunteers we can open it to
the public.
